Thank you for reading and for the response, but I’m gonna have to refute a few of your points, in chronological order:
- I did not “frame” Kristine Leahy as the co-host. That is what what she is referred to as and that is exactly what she is. It’s not a matter of opinion.
2. “The Herd” is on Fox Sports 1, not ESPN, but I’m gonna assume you know that and just made simple mistake.
3. I totally agree with you about the design of the space. It’s not reading too much into things to say the room is poorly designed. I was aware of that when I wrote it, and I do regret not touching on it in more detail, but LaVar took full advantage of the poorly designed room. If he wanted to be respectful, he could’ve turned around.
4. Even if we assume you are correct that LaVar lacks media relations training, it doesn’t excuse anything.
5. The “threat” I refer to is LaVar telling Kristine “If you act like that, guess what? Something’s coming to you”, which is a threat. It’s just a very broad and general threat.
6. Your comments about her “original comments” and the BBB brand doesn’t make much sense. I am aware of what happened and her comments, but I’m not sure what you’re trying to say.
7. I am not trying to paint Kristine as anything. Most of my article isn’t even about Kristine. If anything, by stated goal (i.e., the title) is targeting Colin Cowherd.
8. Your last few comments about Kristine “re-positioning” of the conversation towards gender is kind of pointless. You admit yourself there is “unarguably a tinge of sexism.” So we agree. I did not say what LaVar did was super sexist or the worst act of sexism ever. I said they were rude and disrespectful at best and sexist “AT WORST.”
A general comment: my discussion of LaVar Ball is very limited. Most of my article is explicitly focused on Colin Cowherd. Don’t miss the forest for the trees.
